Policies

We have an extensive number of policies which guide the day-to-day operation of our kindergarten.  Our policies have a review cycle that ensures we keep up-to-date with changes in legislation, learning and practises.

Child Safety:

Friend Street Kindergarten is committed to the safety and well-being of all children. We have specific policies, procedures and training in place to achieve these commitments.

Particular attention will be paid to the cultural safety of Aboriginal children and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds as well as the safety of children with a disability.

We have zero tolerance for any activity that harms or abuses children directly or indirectly. Every person involved in our kindergarten shares a Duty of Care to our children and has a responsibility to understand their role in ensuring each child’s well-being and safety.

Policies that guide our practices in child safety include:

1. Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics

2. Education and Care Services National Regulations

3. Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010

4. Friend Street Kindergarten Policies including

  • Child safe environment

  • Interactions with children
